Ch-ching!

We had a blast at the plant store last night!! Amanda enjoyed the four (or five) little kittens that lived in the store. They were adorable... playing and jumping around with one another. Doug said that I was like a kid in a candy store... I would have to agree. We were able to get everything in our plans for the two flower beds except for the Winterberry bushes and one spirea bush. One of the other stores owned by the same company had the spirea, so the kids and I went out today and got that... along with 400 pounds of manure/compost and some peat and some bonemeal... and some veggies for the garden... I could have spent a ton of money there. They had awesome plants and garden "extras". I told Doug that if we ever get our "date night" that I would like to go spend some time (and money) there.

Anyway, here is what we've gotten so far for our two flower areas (hence the title for this post):
1 - Maiden Grass
3 - Dwarf Fountain Grass
3 - Little Princess Spirea
3 - Coneflower (promised from a family friend)
1 - Butterfly Bush
3 - Happy Returns Daylilies
3 - Autumn Joy Sedum

We also were able to finally find the perfect items for Oscar's gravesite. We got a little stone that says "Our Beloved Pet" last night... then, today at the other store, I found a little resin kitty. We've put the two items out at the top of his grave. I would like to get a nice hosta plant to put back there, too, and turn it into a little garden area. It should be nice.

Amanda and I worked out in the veggie garden today. We got all of the dirt turned and a bag of compost/manure worked in. I hope to get the plants in tomorrow. We got 12 tomato plants - 4 - Early Girl, 4 - Supersonic, 4 - Roma... and, we got 4 - Red Hot Chili Pepper plants. They should do great. They are in awesome condition. Oh, I have gardening fever bad!!!

Tomorrow, we are going to go geocaching with one of the families from Music Class. I'm really excited about that. I asked Amanda if she would like to go caching with Emma tomorrow and she said, "Yes. Are you going too Mama?" I told her that we would all be going, along with Emma's Mommy and Daddy. She must have been impressed, because when we were talking to Doug on the phone later, she recited the whole list of people. We're planning on going to a local state park to hit some caches there. I can't wait!

We were tentatively planning on taking a train trip tomorrow... but, Doug is back on his lo/no carb diet right now. The train goes to a pizza buffet - not something that is on his diet. So, I told him that maybe we should postpone the trip until we all could enjoy it a bit more. Either that, or we should go on a different train trip.

Happy weekend...
