Rock Zoo

Rock Zoo... Rock Zoo... Amanda kept talking about Rock Zoo today and pretending to go there. It's not a new thing to pretend to go to a zoo. She usually selects Wish-Be-Cago (her pronunciation o Chicago) Zoo to "go" to. Anyway, I was trying to figure out what in the world she was talking about when it finally hit me. Rock Zoo is Bronx Zoo! One of the videos that we borrowed from the library this week was partially filmed at the Bronx Zoo.

Amanda and James both got clean bills of health at the doctor's office this afternoon. Their ears are completely healed from the ear infections that they had last month. The doctor listened to James' chest, also... as he has yet another cold. She said that sounded ok.

Last night I was laying with Amanda in bed. I thought that she was almost asleep... and, I hear KC coming down the hallway meowing. She likes to bring us "presents" (toys) at night sometimes, and when she does, she meows. Well, Amanda heard KC and told me that KC was looking for Oscar. I'm sure that we'll have many Oscar references from her for awhile.

I was thinking about some of the funny things that Oscar did, and boy were there many. As Doug said, he definitely was one of a kind. Oscar liked to take his dry food "to go". He would get a big mouthful of it and take it away from the food dishes. Of course, this left little crumbs wherever he decided to eat. You know, now that I think about it, I haven't found crumbs for awhile. I guess that he'd slowed down eating long before we even knew anything was wrong. Another funny thing that he enjoyed was getting belly rubs/massages from Doug. I think that Doug enjoyed this as much as Oscar did. It was soothing for both of them. After Amanda was born, Oscar didn't get his belly rubs nearly as often as he had before. But, when he did he surely was happy. He would often drool... how funny is that? In his last couple of weeks, Oscar enjoyed many belly rubs. Thank you, Doug.
