Jingle Bells

As I type, I am listening to the sound of Jingle Bells... kinda fitting since there actually is some snow on the ground. Amanda is running around the house jingling and singing an Amanda original song. Cute.

Well, the weather folks really did miss the snow predictions. Of course, they were all saying yesterday, "Oh, this is just what we predicted this morning." Well, I could have probably predicted the weather as well as they did, if they only had to predict it a couple of hours before it hit. Doug is giving me a hard time, saying that I'm being too critical. I just say that with the thousands of dollars that have been spent on computers, radars, etc. they should be a little bit better at predicting what will happen when. The snow was supposed to hit at midnight... didn't hit us until about 6 a.m. We were supposed to get between 6 and 8 inches... we're lucky if we got 3. Kinda reminds me of the weather forecaster a few years ago on Indy 500 day that said, "There is NO way that they are going to run the race today." Well, they did... and shortly after that, he disappeared from that station.

Amanda found a toy shovel this morning. She told me that she was going to dig up Oscar. I told her that he really needed to stay in the ground... but, she said that she was pretending. Later, she pretended that she had the box that Oscar was in and it needed to be cleaned off because there was a lot of dirt on it.

Trip preparations continue, albeit slowly. The books are ready to go back to the library tonight. Laundry is almost caught up. We have a bag of baby stuff ready to take. Bills have been paid. I guess that if we left tonight, things would survive here without us. I just always get into this freak-out mode before we leave for any time away... Everything has to be done. I wish I could relax a little more...
