If someone had asked me if I would be able to keep peace while a child threw up in the backseat of a car... while driving down the road... I guess that I would have to say that I wouldn't be able to do it. Well, I would be wrong.
Today, the kids and I were going to meet Doug at lunch for some geocaching fun (it is a gorgeous day!). It probably was a bad move, as Amanda had already gotten sick once today. I honestly thought that she had just gotten choked up by some phlegm. Of course, that time she was laying in bed and it got all over her hair and pj's. I poked her in the bathtub and got her cleaned up. After that, she just kind of lounged around, drank some apple juice, and said that she felt better. We were really close to meeting Doug at the designated spot, when I heard a gushing in the backseat... oh, no... here we go again! And, sure enough, Amanda was getting sick... So, I called Doug, told him we weren't going to make it and headed for the nearest gas station. Unbelievably, I had everything that I needed to get the situation under control except for an extra pair of pants for Amanda. I got everything cleaned up (at least well enough to get home) just in time for Doug to pull into the parking lot. Well, we just said our hellos and the kids and I headed home. Amanda fell asleep on the way home, which was good. I was able to leave her in the truck for a couple of minutes while I put her clean sheets and stuff back on her bed. She is still sleeping... The rest of us feel ok for now, but I'm sure that our time is limited.
I had just told Doug Sunday after church that we would all probably be getting sick again soon. Since the kids hadn't been to MOPS or to church for nearly a month, we all had miraculously gotten healthy. And, here we are... sick again after one visit to the kids' classes on Sunday. It really aggravates me that people will take their sick children to church/MOPS/whatever and drop them off to infect others. Now, sure, I know, not all children are exhibiting signs of illness when they go be around other kids... but, I'm sure that several are. It just really irks me... We have been sharing bugs at our house ALL winter long - since Thanksgiving... with only a one-month "healthy" time. Oh well, I guess that is part of having little ones. Doug and I were NEVER sick before we had the wee ones. A small price to pay, I guess...

UGH! I Lost my comment!!!!!!!!!! But I'm sorry she got sick in the car! I'm sure it's happened to me and I don't remember. But just remember they will get older and get sick less often! However Mat still doesn't get the concept of running to the bathroom. He walks and is usually done by the time he gets there!LOL Poor Joey doesn't even usually know what's going on when he's sick. Needless to say, I'm glad they aren't sick very often!LOL
