Chicken and Fish

We've had a fun day today! Mom and Dad came down for a surprise (kinda) visit. They called while I was getting my hair cut this morning and said that they'd like to come down and see us... Translated - they wanted to see the kids. It had been over two weeks since they'd seen them and needed a fix pretty bad. It was awesome... by the time I got home, Doug had washed all the dishes, cleaned the kitchen and dining room, and had Amanda dressed. He's great!!

We had a nice visit with Mom and Dad. They got to see all of our pictures from Georgia, including a few that Mendi actually looked pregnant in. Those are a pretty hot commodity. For lunch, we all went to Chick Fil'A (or however you spell it). It was really good... Amanda had her normal - fries and Sprite. She actually did have a couple of small pieces of apple, too.

I got the final coat of primer on the bathroom vanity this morning. It is looking so nice. It brightens up the room a ton! I can't wait to see how much the kitchen will be changed when we get a chance to paint those cabinets. It's funny - the cabinets are exactly the same as the ones in the bathroom, including the hardware. I'd never noticed that before... only when I was taking the hardware off of the doors and drawers in the bathroom. So, at least we can feel comfortable that if it works in the bathroom, it will work in the kitchen.

Now, Doug is working on tearing down the 75-gallon fish tank. Of course, I want to move it so that we can paint the dining room paneling (and hopefully the wall) behind it. But, boy! What a huge undertaking. That will probably be all that we get accomplished tonight. That's ok... it is forward progress.

Well, that is all for now. James is having a total meltdown... gotta run.
