Mean Mama

Today has been a gorgeous day! The kids and I had success on our trip to Lowes. Not only did we get an awesome mini-flag bracket, a rain gauge, a couple of hose nozzles, exterior paint info, and electrical tape. We also won a $10 gift card! How cool is that?

This afternoon, James wouldn't take his nap (surprise, surprise), so I decided to load up the family truckster and head to the park. We all had a great time at the park. James is getting way to brave for his britches. I made the mistake of taking him down the curly slide - which he loved. I took him down a few more times, but he still headed over by himself and wanted to climb up it. Man, what have I started? While we were there, James was also up on the second level of a play area, and I was standing nearby to make sure that he didn't try to jump overboard... this other girl for no apparent reason, threw a handful of mulch in my face! Out of pure fight or flight reaction, I indicated to her (rather gruffly) that one should not throw mulch in other people's faces that she could hurt their eyes. Her dad came shortly after and told her to go ahead and come down the slide... and, she promptly threw another handful of mulch in my face! The nerve. Her father apologized... and I thought it best to stay quiet. LOL. After that, another girl (about age 7) came up to me and told me that the "girl who threw mulch" had also told her that she didn't like her... for no reason. Nice kid, huh?

Anyway, we are back at home now... Amanda is wanting shredded mini wheats. James is napping. Doug is due home from work anytime. We're all looking forward to a great weekend!
